Kids’ Fun Camp Recap

While their parents, grandparents, and caregivers learned about JM, over 75 kids ages 3-10 came together for an unforgettable day of fun at the Kids’ Fun Camp.

JM Kids doing a craft at Fun Camp

It was so fun! This was the first time I played with another kid just like me.

Katelyn, age 6

Supervised by a dozen elementary school teachers, this Star Wars-themed camp was a highlight of the weekend. The kids played games, made crafts, sang songs, enjoyed science projects, and much more. The highlight of the day was a visit by Star Wars Characters!

The kids had a ton of fun, all while connecting with other JM kids and siblings. Many of the kids made new friends, meeting other JM kids and siblings for the first time. And many plan to keep in touch with their new friends over the coming year.

“My favorite part of the weekend was meeting the other kids,” says Katelyn, age 6. “It was so fun! This was the first time I played with another kid just like me.”

This year’s Kids’ Fun Camp was organized by long-time Cure JM supporter Carol Claudon.

“It was an honor to put together this camp for such a special group of children,” says Carol. “My goal was to make this the best kids’ camp ever and give all the kids an unforgettable day of fun!”

Storm Trooper at Kids' Camp

For the parents -- and many of the researchers -- one highlight of the weekend was watching the kids perform the inspirational "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten.  View the performance below:

Cure JM is so grateful to Carol and the volunteers, parents, grandparents, and sponsors who made this day so memorable. Thank you for an unforgettable Kids’ Fun Camp!
