Dr. Daniel J. Lovell has dedicated his career to improving the lives of children with pediatric-onset rheumatic diseases through expert clinical care and groundbreaking research. As Associate Director of the Division of Rheumatology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Dr. Lovell takes a comprehensive, team-based approach to diagnosing and managing complex rheumatic conditions. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that young patients receive holistic, personalized care that addresses both their medical needs and overall well-being. His clinical expertise spans a wide range of pediatric rheumatic diseases, and he is particularly known for his commitment to advancing evidence-based treatment options that improve long-term outcomes for his patients.
Dr. Lovell’s research has had a transformative impact on the field of pediatric rheumatology. As Chair of the Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group (PRCSG), he has led numerous clinical trials that have paved the way for FDA approval of multiple therapies for juvenile idiopathic arthritis and other childhood rheumatic diseases. His contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the prestigious James Cassidy Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Distinguished Service Award from the American College of Rheumatology.
