Chyllia Dixon, RN, LMT, RPP

Chyllia Dixon was diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis in 1991. By 1993 she was in remission and off all medications. At the end of 2004 she started to have signs of its return. In 2005, after being diagnosed for the second time, she started treatment again. Despite having JDM and the demands of frequent IV treatments, Chyllia has been able to obtain her massage license and survive nursing school. She now works as a Registered Nurse in Phoenix.

When the JDM came back, Chyllia went on a search for information and she found CureJM. She has watched the growth and amazing family support. In 2007 she was able to attend the national CureJM event in Washington DC just one day before nursing school started. Since then, she and her mother have been able to make it to the other national fundraisers and educational forums. She believes it is important to give families hope that their child may be able to live a full life and accomplish their goals even with this devastating disease.
