Houston Chapter Educational Event

This year we have a full panel of doctors. From Texas Children’s Hospital, Marietta DeGuzman, MD will discuss recent therapies and emerging roles of autoantibodies. From Memorial Herman Children’s Hospital, Ankur Kamdar, MD, pediatric rheumatologist and Jammie Barnes, MD an adult rheumatologist, will discuss the transition of JM patients to adult care. Older kids who are about to head off on their own can learn what they need to know to work with adult doctors via a Q&A panel with physicians, parents, and teens. Regina Carrillo LPC, a child therapist, will be discussing mental health issues.

The whole family is welcome. Childcare and activities will be provided for younger children. Tweens and Teens are welcome to listen to the presentations or enjoy their own activities.

Join fellow Dallas - Fort Worth families, two Doctors from Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and Cure JM Executive Director Jim Minow for fun, fellowship and learning for the whole family.

Dr. Julie Fuller and Dr. Vy Do will speak on topics of interest to Cure JM Families including: Up and Coming Treatments for JDM, Alternative Therapies and Exercise as Therapy. A Q&A session will follow.

Lunch will be served and there will be fun activities for the kids and teens.
