Jane Amaba

Two years ago Jane had never heard of Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM) and then a family member was diagnosed with this rare condition. Luckily an experienced Rheumatologist diagnosed the illness immediately and with moderate medication, the symptoms soon disappeared. Internet searches for information led quickly to CureJM.org, which had a wealth of information, resources for families of the newly diagnosed, a proactive family outreach program, and links to studies on JDM at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda.

Jane and her family currently reside in Tennessee and are active supporters of LeBonheur Children’s hospital in Memphis, which is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s top Children’s hospitals by US News and World Reports, and has an experienced Rheumatology department with proficiency in treating JDM. She is motivated to raise the awareness of this condition so that children can quickly receive an accurate diagnosis and rebound rapidly to normal health.

Jane applauds the efforts of dedicated doctors and pioneers in the research of JDM, such as Lisa Rider MD, and Lauren Pachman MD, who strive tirelessly to find better treatment options and a cure for JDM.

She is the Vice President of Finance at FedEx Services.
