Siblings Matter

Siblings SessionWritten by Erin Coffey, Cure JM super-sibling

In this session, teenage siblings gathered to share their stories about life as the "healthy" sibling. I led the session with Elliott, another sibling. We started by telling our stories about our sisters – Maddy and Anna -- when they were diagnosed, visiting them when they were sick, and trying to keep them positive. We spoke about if we feel our parents favor the JM kids more than us. Then we played some get-to-know-each-other games like "two truths and a lie" which was a lot of fun and gave everyone a chance to talk more. This session was good because it brought siblings together to share their experience and to know that they aren't alone in what they go through.
